Trijicon ACOGS still relevent with all of those Eotechs and Red Dots around?

Trijicon for saleWe’ve started carrying the Aimpoint optics because so many guys coming in from various police departments were referencing that this was exactly what they were trained to use and since it got the job done, they didn’t need another reticle or optic choice.   Aimpoint optics are in various price ranges just like  the Eotech and the Trijicon optics but they don’t have the same features that Trijicon scopes offer.   We were shocked to see so many new Trijicon optics coming out this last year that all took batteries.  It seems that pointing batteries on a Trijicon optic was a against Trijicon Inc’s religion because the fiber optic cables and the Tritium seem to be the staple of the product line.

What do you want to use for close quarters fighting from the Trijicon product line?   Much of the Trijicon ACOGS for sale on our website are for medium to long range engamenets.  I would consider 600yds to be medium ranges for those in the military while most civilians would consider that to be long range.   The Trijicon TA01NSN is an easy transition for anyone that is use to using iron sights because the top mounted sighting platform is really for close up shooting, even low light due to the Trijitium night sight.  If you are use to using a red dot, the RMR sights and now the extremely popular RMR08-G green triangle dot.  There are many differences in dot sizes and reticle options with the RMR sights.

Trijicon Products and Pricing and Promos

Trijicon TA01NSN in stockThere are a lot of people out there that have carried the Trijicon product line and were frustrated with the strict MAP pricing and we understand that, but in the days of internet marketing we’ve seen some companies whore off products  just to get customers to buy from them and take business away from ethical companies.   There are some big name business that rank high on the search engines like Yahoo and Google and even Bing, but have really bad reputations and undesirable reputations on Ebay, but some how amazingly, people still put their credit card info in.   Customer service is a big part of getting “repeat” business and we are very happy to see customers that have been ordering things from us for almost 8yrs now.

There are lots of choices with the Trijicon optics, the differences between the ACOGs and the TA44, TA26 optics is huge.    Some of the Trijicon ACOGS like the Trijicon TA01NSN in stock are the older models but they have a more traditional reticle and many people have a problem deviating from that.  I have been won over to the Trijicon  TA31F-G that we consistently stock because after an afternoon range trip, that green chevron was clear as a laser and gave me a clear firing solution for 50yds, 100yds and 200yd ranges without covering my targets.   I have had issues with steel plate shooting at varying distances due to red dots and eotechs covering the targets.  Doesn’t happen with the chevron.

Trijicon ACOGS, Mounts and configurations

I’ve seen the trend towards the fancy pants combat optics with the 4×32 ACOGS with the red dots on top but then after people do enough shooting they find out that they didn’t need the magnification in the first place or the red dot optics are just mounted too dam high.   You can always adapt to the rifle but for house to house fighting having your head higher than need be is something of an annoyance.   People trended towards zero magnification optics like the Aimpoint or Eotech but then having zero magnification can be a problem in identifying threats.   There have been many second hand stories heard around our store of Law Enforcement not being to identify weapons from cell phones at distances of under 25yds.   Small  handguns can almost fit in the palm of your hand and there is a big difference between a cell phone and a Walther PPK.

Recently there has been a strong trend towards green reticles but the still very popular Trijicon reticle is the TA01NSN.   The Trijicon TA01NSN has a traditional crosshair style reticle but with bullet drop comp.   It is very important to know that combat style optics are more about speed than precision but precision accuracy is absolutely obtainable for even novice shooters because the optic is so well thought out.  Even though you have one of the toughest optics out there, the optic top is designed to have a low light engagement iron sight.  The rear sights have a wide aperture for close fighting not just as a backup if your primary sight goes down.  It is a very easy transition to go from optic to irons with this system.
