All Season Tactical Vest

Tactical Vests
The Eotac 101 vest comes in Black, Khaki, OD Green, Navy and soon will be available in Lizard Pattern camo.   You will be able to store just about every tool and firearm accessory inside this vests, but you will have to be organized and consistant in using this vest otherwise you’ll end up losing things in it.  This tactical vest is easy to wash and makes a great tactical vest for even the novice gun owner.   If you put enough thought into organizing your gear, this will also become a great range bag since storing extra shooting glasses, ear plugs, targets and batteries is easily done.

Eotac has the Style 101 Tactical Vests which have now been on the market for more than a year.   The Eotac vest is not a cheap immitation of the 5.11 tactical vests that have been out for years.   This vest is a big improvement over the similiarly designed competitors.   There are 4 magazines pouches that can hold 2-30rd mags each instead of the 2 mag pouch and larger mag dump or cargo type pocket other vests have.    These vests are designed for those working in the security and contractor industry and are durable enough for most climates.

Winter Jackets and carrying gear

Tactical JacketsI’ve gotten the questions numerous times about what kind of jacket is best for winter carry.   I’m not one to suggest that carrying a firearm in an outwear jacket is a good idea.   There are expensive jackets out there where you can carry a gun and retain it in the jacket, but weight distribution is almost always an issue.  Sometimes people need to realize that winter carry isn’t going to be as easy as summer carry because cold environments are going to mean big jackets or multiple layers of clothing.

One new option that may help you in your search for a spring/fall/winter carry option is the new Eotac Field Jacket, this is a very military looking jackets, but has a tactical jacket look that is a great thing to wear over layers of winter clothing.   The Eotac Field Jacket is not a very heavy jacket even though it may look like it.   The Field Jacket has multiple pockets for knives, flashlights, cell phones, pepper spray and spare magazines.   The field jacket does not hang very lowe on the waiste so it  may not be good for some ways of carrying, but even if this jacekt is zipped up, the front of the jacket is cut in a manor where reaching under and retrieving a firearm from a should holster or belt holster is not that difficult.

Pants-Concealed Carry and Tactical Options

Tactical PantsEotac pants have an elastic waistband that give some versatility to users especially for those carrying a firearm IWB.   The pants sizes from Elite Operator Tactical are consistant with regular clothing sizes.   The shirts and vests are all gun generously to give a little more room.    Eotac lightweight pants have a gussetted crotch that give them superior durability.   The Style 204 Concealed carry pants have side zipper pockets that can hold a small firearm, wallet, keys or something like a Kimber Guardian Angel.   The most tactical of the  are the Style 201 Lightweight Operator pants that are based on the Army Combat Uniform Pants.   These pants can hold up to 6  30rd M16 or AR 15 magazines as well as other gear.   The new Style 702 Womens pants is a big step forward for Eotac and we’re waiting to hear from our Female Operators on what they think about them.  These pants should be available in March of 2010.

Eotac tactical pants have been on the market for about a year now and have got their feet in the door of the tactical pants market.   TheEotac  Style 202 pants have the durability and quality control that puts them in the top tier or the tactical clothing market.   We hear lots of complaints about the 5.11 Tactical pants crowd due to what seems to be a corporate giant that over extended itself into the tactica apparel market and was more concerened with making tactical flashlights, knives and watches than making a consistant pair of tactical pants.  With manufacturing facilities in 3 different Countries, 5.11 has been putting out inconsistant clothing sizes for the same products.

Eotac Tactical Vest

Tactical VestsThis style of vest was designed for security contractors that don’t want to wear the heavy chest rigs ect. that standing Army usually wear.  The Eotac field vest style 103 is more of a tactical casual vest that is similiar in design to the Eotac Field Jacket.   The Style 103 Field Vest is also an excellent hunting or outdoor outerwear to securely hold flashlights, magazines, knives, pepper spray, tools, hunting and fishing gear.

Eotac has emerged as one of the most aggressive and inventive tactical apparel competitors in the industry.   The crew behind the Eotac apparel really understand the end users reasons for wearing their clothing and we users are glad they listen.  The Eotac Style 101 Tactical Vests is a soft tactival vest that feels more like coat or lightweight jacket than a tactical vests.   The vest is made of a cotton canvas material that can easily be washed and it comes in, Black, Khaki, Navy and OD Green.   This particular style of vest (you may see some similiar ones from SigTac, 5.11 Tactical and Woolrich) but this one has superior pocket designs.  The magazine velcro is designed to close over a 30rd Magazine with magpuls which the competitors do not.

Winter Options

Tactical ApparelYou’ve heard that word before, but this time we actually have something that is tactical, useful, warm and makes concealed carry easier in the winter months.   There are plenty of half-zip sweatshirts out there, you see them at Cabela’s or your local outdoor sporting goods store, but all of them make carrying a little more difficult in cold weather.   Wearing slightly over-sized T-Shirts make carrying easier, but after putting on more than 2 layers of clothing, carrying IWB or OWB becomes dangerously cumbersome.
The Eotac Style 501 Half-Zip sweatshirt gives an operator another tactical apparel option.  The 14 oz. 80% cotton / 20% polyester, preshrunk and washed sweatshirt looks and feels like a normal sweatshirt, but the sides of the shirt has break open flaps that make drawing your firearm easier, or just reaching for your cell phone for that matter.   Most never liked the idea of carrying a firearm outside of their body  in a jacket or vest.   I really like this item.   With a nice base layer over a T-Shirt,  then 1 of these 501 Sweatshirts, and you’re good to go for most Cold weather carry.  These come in Charcoal, Olive, Brown and Navy blue.

Tactical Pants with an edge

Tactical Pants

In the the last decade, probale since Sept 11th, the reorganization of military personal into smaller non-uniformed security and special ops has created a new industry.    The market has exploded with various new companies emerging.   We’ve also seen a few companies fizzle out, recently SigTac has shown that it is on the way out.    The Eotac Clothing has been on the market for almost a year now and the Eotac pants, both lightweight Style 201, and Style 203 are far superior in durability compared to other lightweight pant designs.  The Style 202 Eotac pants which may look like something that 5.11 has out, have very practical improvements in pocket reinforcements and size.   The side cargo pockets are bellowed which mags it easier to use for things like mag dumps.    The rear ID pocket it much easier to access compared to the simliarly designed Woolrich Elite 4429 pant.

Tactical Pants isn’t a very descriptive if you know the market.   Some people thinkg BDUs are tactical pants and guess what, they are.   Jeans with a zipper on the side pockets can be tactical depending on who you talk to.    Well, for those that need to carry gear, we don’t really care what you call them, if they work for you then you keep buying them.   The sad thing about the tactial clothing and pants market is the QC or quality control.   I’ve seen a lot of people wearing 5.11 pants to the range, but after 5.11 basically owned the tactical apparel market, from the last time I saw, there quality control has gotten shotty.  They make some good stuff, but when there manufacturing facilities are in 3 different Countries, you might get 3 different fits and sizes.

New Tactical Clothing for women

Eotac ClothingThe Style 702 womens operator grade lightweight pants will be made of the same 100% cotton ripstop material that the men’s pants are made of, the stitching and durability are the same, but the buck stops there, or should we say doe?   The pocket designs are unique to the womens pants and nothing like anything Eotac has out.   The front pockets will easily accomodate pocket holsters, the two additional wallet type pockets can hold ID or even something as large as a pistol magazine. The pant legs are slightly tapered for a better look while still allowing access to an ankle holster or being worn with boots.  These pants will be available in late Winter and will come in Black, Khaki, Navy blue and OD Green.

When some people here that there are tactical pants for women, people think the Hello Kitty pink camo pants are what they’re talking about.   If your girlfriend is wearing something like this it’s  not to offend you or put her down, but the sad reality is there are an awful lot of women out there that are wearing ments pants that were designed for men.    The new evolution of warfare involving non uniformed clothing, the tactical apparel market has been exploding.    The tactical apparel company Eotac which successful infilltrated the market with it’s (mostly applicable to men) apparel is now trying to cut into the market with Eotac clothing for women.

Lightweight pants customer response

Tactical PantsMany of you may think that spending $60 for a pair of pants is too high, but for a lightweight material,  the design is extremely important.   Eotac lightweight pants have a gusseted crotch that will drastically increase your ability to manuever without wearing about ripping your crotch out if you’re running and jumping.    We had a user mention that another manufacturers pants tore in the crotch when he went from prone to standing up on a firing line.    I guess we’ve all torn pants at some point in life, but tactical pants are not meant to be worn like Levi’s jeans.

There are a operator type pants on the market now.   I’ve seen more than a few that were knock offs of the ACU Army Combat Uniform or Paratrooper pants.    Some of them are selling for $20-$100.    That is a pretty big price variances.    I got to try on a few from a distributor that was selling them for $20 and they were worth about $5 after they went through the wash machine.  People don’t really want to spend a lot of money on tactical clothing with this economy, but just like all of the junk AR15, SKS, AK accessories, there are some pretty big differences in clothing durability.   The 2nd thing is the fit and mobility.    True operators are not going to want to feel a crotch ride up on in their pants when they sit down in a car and are carrying 60lbs of weapons and gear.   We had a number of agencies and customers change over to the new Eotac Style 201 Operator Pants and one of the customers stated that in the last 6 months this is the only lightweight cotton ripstop pant that he owned that did not tear at the crotch.   All of the previous pants he wore tore at the same spot.

Tactical Shooting Sports acquires new dress code

Tactical ShirtsWhat else is new about this shirt? This new polo shirt has unique sleeve designs giving you a better range of motion without feeling your shirt move around.    The combination of raglan sleeves, one piece underarm gusset and side panels, and our Eotac’s Tact-Fit Sizing means unique comfort.  If you’ve been looking for a lighterweight polo shirt from Eotac, this is what you waited for.  The Style 410 Polo will be available in, Black, Khaki, Navy, Red, Light blue, Royal Blue, Grey, Hunter Green,  and the much waited for…. White Polo.

We just got word that the company known as Eotac has a new polo shirt coming out.   The new Men’s operator grade shooting sports polo was a good move on the part of Eotac.   We’ve seen their tactical polo shirts as well as other companies tactical shirts, but it’s nice to see something a little dressier and not LEO or military looking.  Some of the other polo shirts we’ve seen on the market were a little heavy and you’ll notice that in the summer months.  For those of us that need to be dressed up and can’t go to work or the office in an Iron Maiden T-shirt,  the Eotac shooting sports polo is another option.  If you are on a shooting team at your gun club, this may be something you’ll want to show off and get embroidered.   There are 9 colors coming out in 2010.
