Shooting Ranges

Shooting Range ListingWe have compiled info from our membership over the years and hoping that eventually we will get enough input to keep our info up to date.  While we realize that some glubs do not want to post all of there info, we feel that we can be a conduit for people atleast finding out how to find out where a range is.

When searching the intenet looking for places to shoot, you may find a few shooting range listings, but there is still very little info out there and it’s also virtually impossible to get answers.   We tried to start something new a few years ago and started TheRallyPoint.org in hopes of eventually building a resource to connect.  While we were searching the internet we found a few resources for gun club info, but atleast 20% of it was inaccurate or flat out wrong.  Gun clubs that have been closed for years were still listed and range info was obsolete.

Combat Gloves

Vickers GlovesWhen you get serious about using a firearm you’ll understand the need for a good pair of gloves. Many of us have experience in plinking on a cold winter afternoon or walking around in the woods during hunting season and feeling the need to keep our hands warm. When using gloves that don’t restrict our ability to use a firearm, well, that’s another story.

Designed by Larry Vickers, a retired career special operations soldier and firearms expert, Vickers gloves are true operator grade gear. Our customers have told us that these gloves are the best on the market, if you are wearing the correct size gloves, you should be able to pick up something as small as a 22LR bullet and still be able to feel it. These gloves will keep you warm and not wear down or fray when racking a slide or loading a magazine.

More Shoulder Holster Options

Galco Shoulder Holster

From what many people seem to like about shoulder holsters is the stability of carrying a larger size revolver or duty gun. Something like a Glock 17 or Sig 226, Beretta 96 ect are all a little large for IWB and OWB limits the defensive movement inside a vehicle.

Galco  shoulder holsters come in a very diverse variety. You you use them for concealed carry purposes or for open carry or duty. One of my favorite ways to carry a Sig 226 is a Galco shoulder holster. I like the idea of being able to sit down in a car and still be able to grab the firearm without fiddling with a seatbelt. The only other car friendly variation of carrying a firearm in a car and being able to reach it quickly is with an ankle holster. Galco has several shoulder holster and ankle holsters on the market.

New Line of Tactical Apparel

tactical apparelA few years ago Woolrich Elite launched their line of tactical apparel with the help of Backyard Outfitter, but after an internal squabble Fernando Coelho split off from the company and launched his own tactical apparel line named Eotac.   I noticed a few  people mention that most of the Eotac apparel looks like Phase II of the Woolrich Elite line, but there have been some major innovations.  We’ve seen some of the new products coming out in 2010 and there seems to be some pretty aggressive steps in the tactical apparel and concealed carry market with the new Eotac line.

Many of you may have noticed that the tactical apparel market has exploded.   There are already a few casualties on the market, notable Sigtac.    There are a few good apparel lines on the market, but there have already been a few failed attempts at gaining on 5.11 tactical.   5.11 apparel in made in atleast 3 different Countries and the quality control has become pretty inconsistant.   I was on the firing line a few weeks ago and heard guys complaining that they use to where Royal Robbins religiously, but ever since 5.11 took them over, the QC has gotten shotty.

One of most popular CCW Firearms

Galco HolstersIf you were new to the concealed carry world, one of the most popular CCW firearms recommended is the Sig 239.   Some may think that the smaller the firearm the easier it could be to handle, but that is simple not true.   I’ve stood on the firing line and seen guys put 32acp and 9mm firearms in their friends hands and people always comment how much bite the gun has.  The smaller the gun, the ligter it is to carry around but not neccessarily easier to shoot or control.
Some may also recommend something like a short barrel revolver or snub nose, but they also have a lot of bite and notoriously harsh triggers.   The Sig 239 is a duty pistol in LEO and Government agencies and also one of the top CCW guns on the market.   It is heavy for it’s size, but it’s size is really not that big.  One of my favorite ways to carry this gun is in a Galco Holster.   You can choose from IWB, OWB, Paddle or shoulder holster.   The Sig 239 is as durable as all of the other Duty sized Sig firearms on the market.

Bianchi HolstersThe world is changing and we are very aware of that at Bianchi International, which is why our product line continues to evolve to keep pace with today’s customer demands. We are continuously researching new materials, developing new designs and entire new product lines to meet these changing needs.

In 1958 John Bianchi had a vision of what he thought a Bianchi holster should be and set out to develop a line of products that carried out that vision. Since that time almost 50 years ago, Bianchi holsters, belts and accessories have been used in police, military and sporting applications the world over.

New Safariland Holster system

Safariland HolstersAdditionally, holsters with this all-new ergonomic design are completely operable with the thumb making training easy, and the straight up draw makes them very instinctive to use, yet difficult for an assailant’s attempted takeaway. And finally, once the retention devices are released, the weapon can be drawn straight out of the holster with no twisting or other motion required.

Automatic Locking System (ALS™)The ALS™ system is the next evolution in Safariland holsters and builds upon the successful SELF LOCKING SYSTEM (SLS). With many patents to its credit, the key to this system is an internal locking device that secures the weapon in all directions simply upon re-holstering, providing Level II Plus Retention™ which can also be elevated to Level III Plus Retention™ with the addition of the Sentry.

Stock Options…..

Advanced Technology Rifle Stocks

You can legally swap your thumbhole stock on your Mak90 with having to swap out your Chinese parts for US made parts by upgrading to the ATI Fiberforce stock Advanced Technology Black Glass Filled Nylon, Thumbhole AK-47/MAK-9o.   See this list for other ATI stocks such as Mini 14, Remington 870, Ruger 10/22 ect.

Advanced Technology Rifle Stocks are a great way to upgrade or improve your shody surplus military guns.   I’ve used the ATI Stocks on my Mak90 gun for years because the awful thumbhole stock it came with really ruined the image.   The absurd gun laws that were implemented in the early 1990s really dumbed down the looks of some of the surplus AKs that came into the Country.

Sidearms during training

Blackhawk SerpaHolsters have come a long way in comparison to what the Cowboys and Military use to store their sidearms.   Most holsters were  held in place by gravity, straps or buttons for hundreds of years.    The Blackhawk Level 2 Serpa leg holster is my favorite way to carry a sidearms whenever I’m toting a rifle or carbine.   I’ve rolled around enough in the dirt to know that gear can fall off when the pace is sped up.   I’ve seen guys loose sidearms and pistil magazines just by bending over or rolling around.

This is one of those little issues that the less trained figure out real quick.
Concealed carry is one thing, but in my line of work, I want to know that if my M4 goes down, my sidearm is locked into place and always going to be there.   The Blackhawk Serpa Level 2 Serpa leg holster locks the pistol in to place and can easily be released with the trigger finger engages a lever which is in the same position your finger would be if resting in the safe position.
